The music

Breakthrough
"Singles You Up" (2017)
CMA win
Song of the Year, "Buy Dirt" (2021)

Shreveport native Jordan Davis broke through with "Singles You Up" and has since become one of the steadiest hitmakers on country radio, on record and on screen.

A Shreveport family with country in it already

Jordan Carl Wheeler Davis was born March 30, 1988, in Shreveport, Louisiana, into a family that already had country music in it: his uncle Stan Paul Davis wrote hits for Tracy Lawrence, and his older brother Jacob Davis is a singer too. He graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport and studied environmental science at LSU before signing with MCA Nashville.

From "Singles You Up" to a CMA Song of the Year

His 2017 debut single "Singles You Up" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart the following spring and is now 4x Platinum. His debut album "Home State" (2018) went Platinum, and the hits kept coming: "Slow Dance in a Parking Lot" (2019), "Buy Dirt" with Luke Bryan (2021), "What My World Spins Around" (2022) and "Tucson Too Late" (2024) all reached No. 1.

"Buy Dirt" won the CMA Award for Song of the Year in 2021, and he won iHeartRadio's Best New Country Artist in 2019. His albums "Bluebird Days" (2023) and "Learn the Hard Way" (2025) kept the run going, and he headlined his own arena run, the Ain't Enough Road Tour, in 2025.

A cameo in Ransom Canyon

Davis and Thomas Rhett appear as themselves in Season 2 of Netflix's "Ransom Canyon," performing their collaboration "Ain't a Bad Life" at an in-show benefit concert. It is a small role, but it is real: confirmed by Netflix's own show promotion, not just a fan clip.
